Energy retailers need timely and accurate forecasts to schedule their loads in day-ahead and balancing markets; Energy traders need accurate retail load forecasts to manage their risk. Itron’s MetrixIDR™ is designed to meet both needs. MetrixIDR is a flexible system that generates sub-hourly, hourly or daily forecasts for lists of delivery points or portfolios of electric and gas retail customers, where the portfolio can be changed on a daily basis. By combining historical load data with weather and calendar information, MetrixIDR provides forecasters the ability to create forecast models for a large number of customers, manage a changing customer base, and monitor forecast-accuracy over time. MetrixIDR integrates with IEE to generate profiles for use in retail settlement.
