Distributed Energy Resource Optimizer (DER Optimizer)

Itron’s DER Optimizer solution is an end-to-end aggregator DERMS platform that brings together the industry’s broadest ecosystem of flexible loads - from load control switches and smart thermostats to batteries and electric vehicles - and integrates grid edge intelligence to deliver a wide range of DER-based grid services, including economic dispatch, non-wires alternatives, local grid balancing and decarbonization.

DER Optimizer is built upon the proven capabilities of the IntelliSOURCE® platform – the longest tenured DRMS solution in production in North America today. These foundational capabilities include all the core functionalities needed to support turkey DER programs – including customer enrollment, device connectivity and control, telemetry ingestion and analytics, reporting, and customer support. With DER Optimizer, Itron has now added grid-edge analytics and optimization capabilities to the platform – by integrating grid-edge sensing and control from Itron’s Distributed Intelligence applications – to enable new, high-value DER management cases such as grid asset protection and voltage management.
